I have a friend on the way - Baba uncle and Soniya aunty are going to have a kid in July. Once again, I orchestrated a suprise baby shower for aunty. Baba uncle scooted her out for a walk while the rest of us lay siege to their home. It was a good surprise for her, and we all had good fun. I kept up everyone's morale with smiles and words of encouragement, and played a scaring game with some of them by wailing out loud when they tried to hold me.

My way or I'll cry away

My version of playing with toys (involves a dumber-than-the-average- toy) :

Speaking of toys, I have only recently begun playing with them. Up until a week ago, I couldn't be bothered with them - people, and the TV, were more my thing, and toys merited hardly a glance. But now that I have discovered that toys are easier to fit into your mouth than people are, I'm all for toys. Bring 'em on!
Yes, I've heard the monkey reference before. Here's further damning evidence:
4-month checkup
I paid another visit to my doctor today. All's fine and dandy. I'm beginning to sleep through the night, feed on solids, flip over on my tummy, hold my head steady.
Height : 27"
Weight : 16 lb 9 oz.
That pain again
I had my second round of shots today. Papa-Mummy have a way of sneaking this up on me on the days I am in my best mood. I was again caught by surprise. By the third shot, I was beyond caring about my image and was bawling my heart out.
One plus of being a baby is shorter memories and an inability to hold grudges, so within a short time I was back to bantering away with Papa.
In the evening they took me to a BIIIIIIG grocery store (Ed : Costco). I was transfixed by the brightly lit aisles with stuff piled on them. I tried to take it all in, but it was too much input for a day and I went to sleep.
Pretty Yosemite
I took to the wheels again for a weekend jaunt to Yosemite National Park, so that Mummy could catch some of the snow she so loves while spring was still in the air.
She had perhaps wished for too much, and it began snowing by the time we got there. In fact, the combination of nighttime, mountain roads, incessant snow and no traffic (and the precious cargo he was carrying!) was scary even for my normally fearless Papa!
On the upside, the next day dawned beautiful, and I got to see the first snow of my life.
Short of a bottle of warm milk on a hungry stomach, this place had some of the most beautiful sights I had ever seen.
Rocks, water, snow, deer - this place was made for kids. Except for all the hiking, but Papa carried me in my Snugli, so I didn't mind that. From my Snugli perch, I had a grand tour of it all. I even managed to sneak in a nap.
The next day we drove to the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, and then on the way back we stopped at this big lake for an impromptu picnic. Of course, the combination of picturesque spots and a baby make for some interesting situations.
I had so much fun I was literally jumping for joy - with a little bit of paternal assist.
