House gets a bit warmer

Papa had invited some of his office colleagues over for dinner and some games. I had a grand time when they came and gushed over me. But then they got to playing cards, and that bored me to sleep.

You tell me, wouldn't you be scared by that guffaw?

Cherry picking

I turned 6 months today (as Papa says, now my age can be counted in years - a full one half of them!). Amit Uncle and Pooja Aunty had come over today and we all went together to pick cherries at a cherry orchard in Livermore. As usual, after some back-and-forth over whether it was safe to allow me to sample the stuff, enterprise won out and I got to redden my cheeks, if you know what I mean.

We went to the temple in the evening.

It's creepy ..

I had been rolling over to move about for some time now. Lately I've learned to creep along by pushing myself by my elbows. It's quite another thing that I prefer doing a Michael Jackson - creep backwards.

It sure helps to get to food and my favorite toys - remotes - faster!

New Home

We moved to a new apartment today, Mansion Grove on Lick Mill Rd in Santa Clara. The big pluses for me are

  • this apartment is part of a big community, with parks, fountains and play areas within the campus and nearby. All that translates into plenty of quality stroller time!
  • Papa's office is very close, so he will have that much more time to play with me. wOOt!

There was lots of packing going around in the last few days. I put in my bit as well, my bit being my whole.

Wonder how they would have managed without me.

Rhyme time

On a completely random note, I've noticed that I have this thing for giving alliterative captions to my weblog entries. Here's a link to all such posts.

I'm a KT Baby!

Papa leaves no opportunity at pimping gushing about me, and sure enough I appeared on the latest edition of the KLA Tencor (his employer) quarterly newsletter. Here's a screenshot.

5/28/05

Today was Mummy's first Mother's Day. I gave her a huge smile in the morning as a present, and an autographed card.

Papa gave her a pendant and earrings.

We celebrated - a day early - by going out to dine Thai.

Walk in the Park

Mummy does talk me for walks around the block in my stroller, bless her soul, but this being one of those rare weekends where the day dawned beautiful and Papa-Mummy did not have the day all booked away, they took me for a stroll in a proper park at Penitencia Creek. It was glorious. Don't tell anyone, but the big ducks near the pond scared me a little. And when, at the end of the walk, Papa and Mummy bought popsicles, I eagerly hung on for licks. Making them utter that phrase they're so wont to repeat these days - "I wish I had brought the camera along".

Fever

Mummy-Papa should get the first prize in stupidity. I had been running a fever most of the day and they kept attributing my fussiness to badmaashi. Finally my continued unease made them call the doctor. Turns out I had a cold. I felt better after some Tylenol and slept soundly.
